Dr. Lawrie is truly one of the most wonderful professors I have ever had. She is incredibly passionate about class topics, cares so much about her students, and is an amazing educator. She has the best heart and is someone who all educators should aspire to be like.
Smaranda makes every class she teaches so much more enjoyable and genuinely cares about helping you.
She is truly one of the best professors I've ever had. She is an amazing lecturer, an excellent communicator, and an extremely compassionate person. She's so fun and intelligent! You will love her class and will always leave feeling happy and refreshed.
She really cares about her students and is super supportive. For 150L you have to make a study and she was always quick with great suggestions about what measures to use and everything. She made the class fun. Would highly recommend!!
Smaranda was a great professor and the content was really inspiring. It's a fast moving class, and you'll need to participate to do well in the exams and projects. There are a lot of studies that are covered, so note taking is important. The effort you put in shows in the grade you receive. Show up, do the work, and youll also learn about yourself!
Dr. Lawrie is a kind, sympathetic professor that really wants to get to know the individual and help them succeed to their full potential. She is very young and has achieved extraordinary goals. She is the reason why I had more interest in Psychology. I am a Psychology major because of her and continue to take her courses to learn and have fun.
Amazing professor! Lawrie thinks of awesome ways to keep students engaged in class. She is extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate for psychology. I learned so much from her. One of the best professors. Would definitely take another class with her.
Lawrie is by far the best professor I have ever had. I took her class at Westmont College and she truly inspired me and changed the way I look at psychology. She is so passionate about what she does and genuinely cares about each of the student. She is dedicated to help each student succeed and get to know them as people. Highly recommend her.
I took Prof. Lawrie for Gen Psych at Westmont, it was an 8 AM class but she always had so much energy it was impossible to sleep in her class. Once when she accidentally posted the test answers online and it was clear most of the class had cheated, she instead took that as an opportunity to have the you get the grade you thought you deserved.
This class is notoriously annoying, but with Smaranda it wasn't bad at all. She's a grad student teaching the course but it's clear she knows the material well and does a good job presenting it to students. She's extremely accessible and very sweet. Class was graded 10% attendance, 15% midterm, 15% final, 15% paper 1, 20% paper 2, 25% presentation.
