He is a very nice professor and it is apparent that he cares about his students. There is a lot of lecture videos and very very long reading assignments every week. Although we have a discussion post every sunday which is simple and basically a free extra 10 points.
I took Kyle at SBCC (don't know why he doesn't appear connected to it) He lays down good frame work and often references scenarios discussed in lectures on the quizzes. There was about one quiz per week. Only 3 papers, norm 4. He posted lots of reading connected to the topics in lecture along with YouTube videos. Weirdly into memes. lectures snoozy
He is nice to the students and always be willing to answer questions, but I still would say he should not teach Logics. He usually get confused by the problems and cannot give insights about the materials.
I went to every lecture. One of the worst teachers I have had in my life. A part of it may be due to the course material's difficulty, but he is not articulate at all and his explanations are incoherent. Everything I learned in this class was from attending section and from doing practice problems. What I can say, however, is that he grades fairly.
Kyle tries his hardest to teach material that is incredibly difficult. I took this class P/NP and even then I found myself putting a LOT more effort into it than some of my letter graded courses. Section is optional but PLEASE GO, it helps a lot. There's a midterm and a final but the majority of your grade comes from homework.
This was by far my favorite class last quarter. The lectures were engaging and funny and his powerpoints are super helpful (he also posts them on gauchospace). There were 2 short essays which were easy and a midterm and a final that are easy as long as you study. There are also reading quizzes on GS every week that are easy and a good grade bump.
I absolutely loved this class. Kyle is a great professional and really broke things down to be easily understood. the content is interesting. One midterm, 2 essays, one final, online quizzes/participantion. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
He's a good professor. Essays are kind of difficult, so make sure to utilize your TAs. Attending lectures is important. Reading quizzes every week, so you can't skimp on the reading. Underestimating quizzes was my fatal flaw. Lecture could be interesting. He uses philosophy memes, so that's a plus.
