There are a lot of readings each week. However, as long as you read them all, it's not hard to get an A. Besides, Prof. Andrea is very caring. Whenever you ask her a question, she will answer it very carefully.

Professor Andrea is very kind and understanding. she will honestly try her best to help you pass the class as she canceled class lecture 1 time so she extended the rest of the quizzes.

I'm really glad I took CLIT30B. It may seem overwhelming at first, but if you do the lectures and readings you will be fine. I ended up spending around 4-5 hours each week and found the final pretty easy. The quizzes are unlimited attempts, and the essays are open-ended so you're free to write about what you please (given certain sources).

I loved CLIT 30B, and this is coming from someone who usually does not like to read and analyze. She has so much knowledge on not only the literature itself but the historical context, and is very put together. Papers are straight forward and if you put time in and follow directions you will get a good grade. I also recommend the honors section!

She is not nice. Attend her lectures or you will not get good grade. Does not listen to students or understanding at all.

Professor Andrea is extremely organized and this has been one of my favorite classes so far. The workload is the same every week and the midterms are just two essays. If you are not comfortable with writing don't take this class, other than that it's extremely interesting and extremely manageable. Forum post every week and weekly reading quizzes

winter 2022 went online. Not recommend this class for non-English speakers or ppl not into literature. Do not take a class that fulfills both area G and WRIT. The prof is nice but the content is just difficult and the grading solely depends on TA. Powerpoint is not clear for review and there's no interaction during class.

A lot of the reviews on here complain about the workload but it's totally manageable. Prof Andrea is really amazing - she has incredible knowledge about female writers from the Renaissance era and it has honestly changed how I see the world as a woman. This class is organized and predictable as well, just take good notes during lectures.

The grading is alright. Its not a hard GE if you love literature. The lecture is absolutely amazing! It brings the dense material to life.

I would not recommend this class. The workload is ridiculous and grade depends solely on TA only. Each week you are expected to read 10-30 pages, watch a 2+ hr lecture, attend section meeting, post to forum, respond to forum, and complete a quiz. You only have to write 2 papers but they are graded harshly and the rubric is not clear.

I took this class as one of my GEs. It was horrible. I cannot imagine how difficult online teaching is for teachers, but Professor Andrea did not seem to have any sympathy or awareness of how her students are feeling in her class. The lectures were 2+ hours long. Quizzes ridiculously hard. Super long readings. Time constraints. Worst class yet.

The class had a very manageable work load, and the material was really very interesting! I didnt think that I would be interested before hand, but the teacher is very passionate about the class and very clearly knows the subject well. There were three papers, and the third one was supposed to be built on one of the previous ones. 10/10 professor.
