Had her for Hist 156B; Unreasonable high expectations for her students. Her grading is tough and expects students to talk to her to address their concerns. She also uses check, check plus, check minus grading which is confusing. She gave us our final essay grade (worth 35% of our grade) the day of our final, which was rather impractical.

Professor Frei is a great writer and a great woman. However, she often times seems to forget that many of her students are taking her course to improve their writing and do not necessarily already have perfect technique in their skillset. She is a bit of a hard grader, but if you put in the necessary work, you can get an A.

Professor Frei is such a tough grader. I had her for Writing 2 and she expects you to be a fantastic writer right at the get go. One of those writing profs who reads something and thinks "I think that sounds awkward, so it's wrong." Slow grader but expects you to be on top of it. Wouldn't take again.
