LOVED the discussions in this class! She definitely knows her information and is wonderful at teaching it! Easy to talk to and created a fun, engaging class. Fair grader. Recommend attending class to know whats expected. Can do well on papers from listening and skimming readings for info/quotes. TAKE HER CLASS!

This professor is great! I took this class over the summer. There was a lot of reading but like any other soc class, and two essays that counted towards our grade. Sometimes she would take attendance and sometimes she wouldn't. Very approachable professor when asking her questions. She also made her lectures very clear.

I'm a transfer student; this is my 1st class taken at UCSB. She's a great teacher, there's a lot to read but she won't test you on the reading. But it's suggested that you do read since it's what's discussed in class. Participate in the discussions, it makes time go by fast. She mostly puts up the ppts. up the day after class. Would take again! (:
