Sections are very vague and hard to follow along with, none of our sections had a set structure and was more discussion based. The discussions were also not very good.

None of the readings that were assigned were discussed. Instead, she just talked about the Bible every week, so if you're unfamiliar with the Bible then DON'T TAKE HER CLASS. I left her section in tears every week because I was left out of every discussion. I had to teach myself all of the readings because I couldn't keep up w/ the Biblical talk.

Everything in the class is super vague:the instructions, the requirements, and the grading. Every week she provides useless busywork that is intended improve your writing. Finding out the actual instructions and deadlines for this busywork is even harder as it is partially announced and changed between three platforms. Very half-hearted.

I took this class in the fall and it was my most labor intensive writing class I've ever taken. So many papers assigned upon short notice and at bad times, especially during midterm season. Classes dragged on and she didn't always provide the most useful information during class. Occasional fun activities, but most were unrelated. Very stressful.

I had her for fall quarter. Joyce was energetic and used group activities to teach concepts, which was helpful and enjoyable. However, the expectations for the papers were often unclear and you'd usually only get a grade with only general feedback, not feedback on specifics parts that needed work.

I took this class for Writing 2. Do not take it. she is a very lazy teacher, half way does things. Its like more work for us but less work on her part. She goes off tangent allll the time by trying to tell stories that no one finds funny. Doesn't respond to emails or gives directions of an assignment in class only tells us the due date. AVOID
