Super chill professor, class was not hard and she seems very passionate
Take Music 114 with Prof. Munk while you still can! She is a caring prof. that is very passionate about the class, making her recorded online lectures among the most enjoyable out there. It is easy to do well in her class as long as you keep up with the weekly readings and can write at length about one of the course concepts.
A caring professor who is passionate about the material but also gets directly to the point (each lecture per week is no more than 20 minutes). Organized the class to minimize stress. Relatively easy assignments, though your grade depends on which TA you have.
Easy 4 units. You can probably finish an entire week's work in just one day. Graded based on weekly short-answer questions about the readings, easy quizzes every other week, one 4-5 page paper analysing a music video, and a concert report. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, non-stressful class.
A nice async class. Your score basically depends on TA.
Prof. Munk was an excellent teacher for world music. She had a passion for her field, care for her class, and rock-solid organization. It was not a standard memorize-test GE; we went out to concerts (this was pre-COVID) and got to meet some of the artists whose music we studied. If that sounds like a good time to you, you will enjoy this class.
Aside from the mandatory concerts (which were very rewarding), it was a very low-maintenance class. The final was just a revision of the midterm paper, and it was super easy to excel on the quizzes. Highly recommend!
