Attendance is mandatory in sections, not in lectures. It's A lot of reading, and someone who has English as a second language may not be able to get an A.

This was my favorite class this quarter! Her lectures were interesting because they made me think about ideas in ways I would not have thought of. The grade distribution between participation, papers, and exams was even, so you will succeed if you go to lecture and section, take good notes, ask questions, and carefully follow all instructions.

Rachel is super passionate about children's literature. BUT I don't recommend if you're taking for a GE because I ended up doing more work/reading than I anticipated (Not just kid's books, some heavy theory readings). Graded on 2 papers, a written in-class midterm and final, and section attendance/participation. Have to attend lecture to do well :/

Not a very good lecturer, she loves the way she talks and uses too complicated language. Doesn't make it easy to learn the content and not very inspiring as a professor. Was excited for this class but now is my least favorite I'm taking.

She makes everything overly complicated and talks like she wants to show everyone how many words she knows. Her lectures are confusing and make no sense and the assignments are really long papers with no emphasis on her lecture content. Not a great teacher, needs to get over herself.

Professor Feldman's lecture are really inspirational with clarity. I would recommend all students with an interest in children literature to take her course. She is willing to help her students, so don't hesitate to seek help.
