Amazing professor, the lectures were very interesting, however not mandatory. There were five in-class assignments during lecture so I would recommend attending. The assignments were super easy. There were two in-class essays but you are allowed to have a cheat sheet which is super helpful.

A good class good GE. Graded by few things- midterm. In class assignments. Section attendance. Essay. Final project. Pretty easy too. Your TA matters. I recommend taking the class. Prof Pellow is great too funny and chill.

Best professor ever

I think everyone should take a course with Professor Pellow while at UCSB. He's so kind and caring of his students. There are lots of extra credit opportunities. The class isn't too hard but I learned a lot from his lectures. Has a sense of humor too.

Prof. Pellow is AMAZING. Lecture slides don't provide much, so make sure to attend lectures and just understand key words and concepts. 2 midterms with 1 page back and front cheat sheet that you can bring, and they're generally super easy. 1 final project that you work on ahead of time. No other assignments, just do the readings for sections.
