SPRIGGE M A
Fun class I overall enjoyed. Decent amount of reading involved but expected. Lots of writing as it covers writing credit, but you get to flexibility with choosing what to write. Lots of information across the board, some kind of random but okay. Class was lecture heavy but usually interesting. Would recommend, grading was fairly easy
Very chill professor, lectures are pretty boring but mainly graded by a couple essays and then a midterm and final essay. Weekly assignments too which are not that time consuming. I personally do not think that it is hard to do well in this class, just be ready to write.
Class was interesting, but felt a bit random at times. Grading was a bit harsh. One short essay a week, one midterm (essay), two esssay final, and a concert reflection. Lots of reading was assigned, but it seemed unnecessary to me. A bit surprised this is known as one of the easiest GEs. Just know how to write, and you will do fine.
Professor Sprigge is one of the kindest professors I've ever met. As an international student, I felt truly seen and supported. She's warm, patient, and always willing to help. Her class is thoughtful and well-organized, and she creates such a safe, welcoming space.I feel so lucky to have met her and will always be grateful.
A rather boring class, with a surprising amount of work considering its widespread reputation as an easy GE. It's not challenging, just a bit annoying.
Attendance is required for both lecture and section. Three 650 word papers and eight weekly short responses. She'll bring in guests for interviews and live demos of music. Hope you are involved in some way with music if you're taking this course.
For her first time teaching MUS15, she did a phenomenal job. Super passionate and is great at explaining concepts/themes. Grade is composed of weekly responses, attendance, 1 performance attendance, and 3 short papers: however, they're simple as long as you attend the (mandatory) lectures. Lots of great guests along the way as well.
Prof Sprigge is definitely my highlight of remote learning. Her lectures and sections are always so fun to participate, and she is passionate, and knowledgeable, in what she is teaching. Very manageable workload (1 response each week, 2-3 short paper, and midterm & final), clear syllabus and grading contract, give goofed feedback. I enjoyed a lot.
The class is fairly easy if you do the work. You have 4 written take home assignments, all 2-3 pages double spaced and the final is also take home. She is really sweet and passionate about what she teaches, if you have an interest on the HISTORY of music and how its used as a political medium then this class is for you. Easy A if u do the work!
