If you have to take 108A try to take it with Martinez. His exams are very straight forward and if you do better on the final than the midterm he will replace your midterm, which the final was much easier. Lectures are boring but very straight forward and the textbook is easy to read and very helpful.
Christian is a very caring professor. His exams are not meant to trick his students. Math 8 is a very challenging class but he makes his courses as basic as possible. He truly wants his students to succeed.
He is a great professor! His cute accent did not affect me understanding his lecture. He gives a lot of curves even if his tests are pretty fair and not very difficult. Very helpful during office hours. Recommend.
Great lectures and absolutely amazing study guides for tests. Very helpful during office hours if you have questions. HW and tests are pretty fair.
Martinez is very clear with you as to what will be on the exams. Everything he says in class he writes down, but he doesn't put notes online. A lot of what we learn in lecture is unimportant, but Martinez lets you know that you don't need to know it for the tests. Homework is hard, but the exams are very fair and easy. Overall, I liked the class.
While Dr. Martinez isn't amazing and his accent makes him somewhat difficult to understand, he is a down-to-earth guy who cares about his students' understanding of the material. His exams are fair and reflective of what he lectures on. Lecture attendance was not mandatory, but it's helpful. Homework was a little tedious.
Weekly online homework assignments in addition to weekly quizzes in section. Lecture is pretty clear but make sure to go since lecture slides are not online. Two midterms and a final, pretty straightforward tests and class.
Good lecturer, gives good examples and and clear expectations for the tests. He likes to go over proofs in class so if you're not into that, avoid him. Otherwise, a pretty good professor.
