Hillary is all over the place man. We got a 10% curve on this final because she couldn't write the test properly. The first half of the class was not taught by her and was great. She ruined the second half, horrible slides, mid lectures, horrible final. Still a super easy class though.

Lectures are impossible to follow and unorganized. quiz questions are poorly constricted (and tricky) and often ask about material we don't cover nearly enough

I would honestly give Professor Young a 0/5, but at least she's nice. It's too bad that her lectures were so fast paced and poorly organized.

Textbook does not relate to lecture, but are expected. to know all material from it for tests. Lectures are extremely difficult to follow and class feels like she is making up everything on the spot. Slides were in the wrong orders, so I spent half the time looking for the slide she was presenting.

Her lectures were ridiculously unorganized and hard to follow. Her slides were usually in the wrong order and she skipped around a lot, which makes studying for exams much harder. Also, lectures arent recorded.

This class was great and probably considered a difficult class to fail. The class was graded purely on effort and a majority of your grade was from the class project on a specie you chose. Time consuming class and lots of research papers to read and quizzes were hard but quizzes didnt impact your grade as much and lots of EC offered.

Pros: - inspiring female professor - offers a lot of extra credit - many "ungraded" completion based assignments - no final exam - clear grading criteria - intelligent and knowledgeable Cons: - lectures can get slightly boring - some of the quiz and test questions are difficult and oddly specific - quizzing on "next week's material" was a bit odd

I think that because EEMB 120 is a bit math heavy, the best way to help students understand concepts would be to make the quizzes more math based. Having us read a lot of extra studies to be quizzed on for the sake of being introduced to research was a bit unnecessary. Going more in depth on less material would have made it more memorable.

So I really wanted to like her due to her being a female scientist and researcher, but nah. The lectures are dry, she breezes through, and it's hard to follow along. The quizzes in her class are ridiculous, and the formatting is silly (being quizzed on "next week's material"?? WHY?). +Assignments where early sections get more time but same due date

Great lecturer, super caring and passionate researcher. Very knowledgeable about many science topics and accessible outside class if you just shoot her an email. Hillary will make you work to earn the grade you want but you will learn a lot in turn. If you are able to put in the time take her class!

She talks insanely fast and goes through slides too fast! So it's hard to retain any information. She always asks if anyone has any questions and actually answers the questions. She responds to emails almost instantly and is happy to help. She's very passionate about birds & will make you read either one or both ( 2nd extra credit) books on birds.
