Fore is awesome. Makes waste management really interesting. The tests are easy but the 6 quizes are kind of hard and are worth a lot of your grade. He wasn't going to offer extra credit this quarter but we convinced him to provide an EC assignment. The essay takes a LONG time so get it started early. 100% would recommend this class!
Matt is a true gem! Don't hesitate to take this class because it's offered at a bad time. He's hilarious and makes waste super interesting. 1 midterm, a couple reading quizzes, extra credit (which is super easy and boosts your grade a lot), 1 paper (10 pages, start it asap to make your life easier), 1 final. He genuinely cares about his students.
This class had every opportunity to be dry and boring but Professor Fore KILLED IT. It was one of the best college courses Ive ever taken, without question. He is so knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and just an all around phenomenal person. I learned so much- the course completely changed my outlook on waste. 2 tests, 1 paper and 5 quizzes.
The course is a 490 point system. Midterm 100 (MC + short ans), Final 150 (all MC), 10 page paper 150, quizzes 90 points (6 quizzes). The paper prompt was given during the first class so you have plenty of time to finish. The quizzes are MC, not hard if you scan through the readings. There is a curve at the end of the class.
Great professor who's passionate about the subject. His lectures are very organized and attendance is a must to pass the class. Occasional quizzes so make sure to do the readings before class. Overall, the class was fun and informative!
Fore was awesome. He was passionate & motivating. His lectures are clear and organized. Midterms were straightforward. Lectures were 3 hours long. Favorite part was the field trip to the landfills. Do the readings if you want to do well on the quizzes. (Not all are easy as you might think). 10 page report, midterm, and final.
Hesitated to take this class bc it was 7-9:50 on Thurs. nights, but I'm glad I did. He shared his real world experience bc he works for the county/is a gaucho alum! Mini quizzes: easy if you skim the readings (3 questions). 10 pg paper: pick a country in the EU. Final was T/F and multiple choice like quizzes. Go to the landfill extra credit trip!
