I don't understand the Lalo hate on here at all. Compared to my previous 1A professors who had 4+/5 ratings, he lectures at the same level they did. He spoke clearly, provided great analogies, and broke down complex systems into easily digestible parts and connects them all together. Sweet and caring guy on top of it all. Super easy exams too.
Does not know what he is talking about 99% of the time. Constantly backtracking and saying um er nvm. It throws me off in lecture. Doesn't know how to teach, doesn't know how to structure slides, and can NEVER get thru his slides in class so its always on us to watch a "supplemental video" super nice but a bad prof
Professor Lalo was actually good. Although his lectures were confusing at times, the overall way he presented information was clear. I LOVED the way he taught the genetics portion. He presented clear strategies on how to approach these problems. I would say that if you do the textbook readings and pay attention in lecture, you'll be okay :)
Everyone is just soft. Lalo is the GOAT. If you put in the work to learning about the biological processes instead of just trying to memorize questions, you will succeed in the course. Everything he asked on any test was on the slides or said in his lecture videos. I hate that his name is getting dragged on here.
Lalo is a nice guy and a mediocre professor. Lecture is mandatory and as long as you memorize everything on his slides & complete his practice tests, you'll be fine. One of those classes that you have to memorize everything since a lot of his tests ask very specific/trick questions. If you took AP Bio, you'll be fine. If you didn't, best of luck
Lalo is a very kind and courteous professor that really cares about his students wellbeing and learning. Regardless, his teaching isn't great, because he can be hard to follow and sometimes breezes through tested info. If you take time to fully understand his slides to a tee though, you can get an A in this class because his exams are fair.
