Everyone is just soft. Lalo is the GOAT. If you put in the work to learning about the biological processes instead of just trying to memorize questions, you will succeed in the course. Everything he asked on any test was on the slides or said in his lecture videos. I hate that his name is getting dragged on here.

Lalo is a nice guy and a mediocre professor. Lecture is mandatory and as long as you memorize everything on his slides & complete his practice tests, you'll be fine. One of those classes that you have to memorize everything since a lot of his tests ask very specific/trick questions. If you took AP Bio, you'll be fine. If you didn't, best of luck

Lalo is a very kind and courteous professor that really cares about his students wellbeing and learning. Regardless, his teaching isn't great, because he can be hard to follow and sometimes breezes through tested info. If you take time to fully understand his slides to a tee though, you can get an A in this class because his exams are fair.

Bro did not want to teach genetics thoroughly and that was all on the final. My grade dropped 10% after the final and now I'm at a C.

He sucks at teaching. Great guy, but makes everything 10x more complicated than it needs to be. Don't take introductory biology with him unless you took AP Bio, because you will have no clue what's going on. Makes up logic for genetics questions and expects you to use his made-up logic.

not that bad, he was somewhat behind in lectures and quizzes/tests did have some errors. I do believe however that the class and his lecturing was not that bad, I found this class to be relatively easy, office hours were helpful, he was very accessible and was a very fair man. I think a lot of the criticisms are overblown, don't let it deter you.

Really nice personality and seems very fun and caring but terrible lectures. Lectures are very confusing and unorganized. He often comes to section to finish lectures as he falls behind schedule. TA in the class is not helpful. He also makes errors and mistakes on his tests so be aware.

Lalo is an incredibly kind professor and wants all his students to do well. If you put in the effort, and follow Lalo's clear guidelines to do well in the class, you will succeed. He encourages coming to his office hours and is very available to answer questions. He formats the class in a way that is easy to understand.

I dont understand the hate for Lalo. He is so sweet and wants his students to succeed. He is very clear about what is on the midterms and finals and his practice exams are almost identical to the types of questions asked on the exams. So far one of the best upper div biology teachers I have encountered. Also, he does explain the lectures very well.

Lalo gets so much hate for no reason. Lectures were so clear and he emphasized everything on the exams well. Practice tests were really helpful and his office hours were an amazing resource. He is so knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. If you have the chance to take genetics with Lalo do it!

Lalo is the sweetest professor and gets a lot of hate for no reason. I understand some of his lectures can be slightly unclear but if you go back and watch the recordings they make perfect sense. His tests are extremely fair and easy (very similar to the practice exams he gives). He cares a lot about his students and their success.

Lalo is the nicest guy, but he is not a very good prof. His lectures are very shallow, not well-taught, and don't prepare you at ALL for the hyper-specific questions on exams. He also spends too much time doing introductions, and talking about material that aren't exams during lectures, So, we were always behind on material.
