Mainly had to analyze paintings and write about it using the terms we used in class. Wasn't difficult, but I wasn't interested in art. Pretty time consuming since there are readings to do, but section helped me learn without reading. Professor Adams is very passionate about the material, so she knows tons of facts about what she is talking about.
Prof Adams's lectures were pretty confusing a couple of weeks in I got the hang of it though. Art History is a weird subject and no one really went over how to analyze art. It's def a skill you have to practice which is a lot too do for a GE credit. My TA was very helpful so use the resources available to you and you'll be okay.
This class is not difficult IF you are interested in art. Midterm and Final have essays and multiple choice. 2 papers. Essays are easy and not graded harshly. I love art and ended up getting a 100 percent; other people claimed they were getting C's bc it was hard. Really depends on interest levels, Lectures are very long. Felicity Good is Amazing!
This was a class hard, don't get it wrong. However, professor Adams made this course super interesting, and I learned so much from her. The test formats are whack, but not too hard. YOU MUST GO TO LECTURE. This course is lecture-dependent, and all the information you will need is 90% from lectures. Overall, hard class, but super interesting.
Lectures have lots of info but are very interesting, you must go if you want to pass. Essays and tests have clear rubrics/directions given out beforehand. I suggest making flash cards about all the paintings that she wants you to remember. You have to put in work and memorize the material for tests. Super interesting but some extra effort required
This professor does not trust her students and is a stickler about stupid things. Her test formats are extremely annoying and she doesn't even seem to care if her students learn anything about art just that they follow her unnecessary rules. Lectures were interesting but not worth putting up with her.
