Dr. Branson's Writing Theory class sounds really scary, but it's actually not that bad. The work is paced out, and he always answers any questions. He grades on a grading contract, where if you do the work and do it well you are marked complete, which is really helpful and actually makes me want to try.
Branson teaches Writing Theory at the University of Toledo, and it was my favorite class! He really cares about every student and gives great feedback! I would take him again if I had the chance. You also get three absences, and he grades off of a grading contract, (which I loved). The class discussions always kept my interest. Loved the class!
BEST WRITING PROFESSOR EVER! He gives everybody that is willing to work an A. However, that is not easy A, though, as he can clearly tell whether you put effort in it or not, so don't treat him as "HO HO he is not going to know." Fantastic feedback on papers and he really want you to become a better writer.
Professor Branson's Writing 2 class is incredibly interesting, engaging, and fairly graded. He recognizes the biases of subjective grading of essays, so he grades his class based on completion of required and optional assignments. It's not difficult to get an A because of his grading scale, but it does require sustained significant work and effort.
wonderful teacher
I put off taking this class because I hate writing papers. Professor Branson made this class as painless as possible by breaking up the projects into two segments which GREATLY helped. The projects were actually interesting unlike many other professors' crap. If you're reading this deciding whether to take him or not, just DO IT!
