I agree that he often makes out-of-pocket questions that require us to understand the concepts thoroughly. Still, as long as you attended Prof. Hellester's office hours to learn from the mistakes, not just to memorize but understand how to DERIVE the answer, the final was pretty straightforward and the grade that I received was rewarding to me :)
dawgs acting like this is 10a like fool.. its not that serious. he just reads off the slides which is basically copied off the textbook and half the time his mic is not even on so no one can hear whatever hes tryna spit. the grading scale rigged af cuz why is an 81-82 a C+????????? goofy ah prof literally avoid him at all costs
The slides used during lectures are like half thought out notes he took as he skimmed over the textbook, I had to read the textbook as he went through the slides during class just to make sense of them. The exams are also very confusing, very weirdly phrased and not similar to the practice questions on the Cengage website we are supposed to use.
Well, he's a reasonable prof in the econ department cuz he literally did all final practice exams just to give us correct answers!! Also, he's super accessible in his office hour:) I'll definitely take him again if he teaches any other econ courses.
stubborn professor who won't even round up your grade and care nothing about students' feedbacks. Final is much harder than homeworks and he doesn't give any practice exam nor old exam. Worst class experience ever.
Avoid this Professor at all costs. I've never rated through this site until now because I haven't encountered such an unfair grading system or have had a worse enough experience to cause me to write a review until now. About 2/3 of the class grade is exams for which the class average after curved is on average 55%. Tests are extremely unpredictable
Tests are ridiculous, 3 midterms, 1 final.
New at teaching, and it shows. Slides are straight from the book. Practice problems involve little to no math, but the midterms are all math. In general, makes it very hard for anyone to succeed.
