Great lecturer. The course material is inherently hard but ben covers more than other classes do and covers it well. If you put in work in lecture and in section the course is incredibly rewarding. 3 midterms. Questions are similar to the practice midterms, but the practice midterms are hard. would absolutely take him again. great educator

He was easy going and very helpful, was very open in terms of office hours and by the time you were done asking a question, you understood it.

Great instructor for sure! He's really helpful and always there to answer your question. And notice that he is really patient and funny. Just realized that Math is so fascinating after taking his Math 8! Remember to do the homework, show up in both lectures and sections, and you will get good grades! Cool guy(:

Ben is a great professor. His class completely changed the way I look at math, in a good way! He didn't lecture, but more asked questions that made you think more deeply about the problems. This was my favorite class at UCSB by far, I learned so much! He was really helpful if I had questions on the homework, very approachable. Highly recommended!
