He moves to USD starting this semester. He is great and very encouraging. So there are 2 papers and 1 midterm and 1 final. They are all take-home. Some occasional online quizzes that are open book ones. As long as you can write well and go to office hour to ask what he wants, you will get a good grade

Professor Abrecht is so amazing! I had the chance to have him for bot Hist2A and Writ2 and for both his charisma to teach shows. He makes thinks easier to understand and gives great feedback. Always available to explain questions or simply to talk. This is his last quarter at UCSB, but where he is going i'm sure he'll be as amazing as he is here :D

He's Great!

Aside from being an all around awesome person, Ryan, hands-down, is the best professor I have ever had. He provides very thorough and detailed feedback as well as takes the time to get to know every student in his classes. He made the 2 hours of class fly by because of his fun, theatrical personality. If you put in the work, you will do good.

Ryan was an AMAZING teacher for this class. He made a 2 hour class seem short. He provides a lot of feedback on your essays. There is a lot of assignments, but that's because it's writing. I loved his class. He was always available by email or in office hours for help.

Awesome! He is well-versed in the material and gives very animated lectures. I took this as a summer course which he took into account when he assigned readings. He was very straight-forward with what he wanted on papers and let us know what the basic outline was for both the midterm and final. He also did a review day before each.
