I really enjoyed this class. The professor is a clear, straightforward lecturer who uses informative slides and keeps it interesting with videos on course topics (epidemics, nuclear weapons, etc.) Midterm, final, & paper. I did well in the class, but the prof. understandably (UCSB shootings) gave us a long paper extension and a truncated final.

Extremely easy class, might be scary at first because of the somewhat heavy readings but I stopped reading in like week 2 because the midterm and final were just based on his lecture slides. Go over the slides and you'll do well. Also one 7-10 paper and you could choose from 6 topics, pretty easy as well.

Great introductory class. Interesting material, straightforward, no surprises. Clear, nice professor. Geoff was a terrific TA. Highly recommended.

Most interesting class I've taken at UCSB, convinced me to focus on IR. Very clear lecturer, loved how the lectures supported and built upon the textbook. Interesting examples and videos presented during class. I was pleased with my final grade, but students did so poorly on the midterm the professor had to curb the exam.

Easiest class I have ever taken. Lectures were an overview of what the book said and he didn't expand upon much so it was horribly boring. Just do the readings and go to section.
