Celia is absolutely amazing - if you have the chance to take her class, DO IT because she doesn't teach every quarter! Outside of class, she's a community organizer/activist/speaker extraordinaire. She has a ton to teach about the real world and has influenced me to pursue a career in environmental communication. Seriously, do it, she rocks.

Didn't learn much. There were 2 papers, a presentation, and a final project. The class is mostly guest speakers. You won't know what grade you have until final grades come out at the end of the quarter.

One of the best prof at UCSB! Learned a lot about comm skills but many life lessons as well. There is a speech, multiple assignments, and a final assignment(no tests). She creates a safe environment for all and is very approachable. She is very understanding and genuinely cares. To say the least, this class changed my perspective on many things!

Celia is one of the best Environmental Studies professors I had at UCSB! She is inspiring, approachable and cares about her students. That coupled with her amazing work experience makes the class not only interesting but an environment where students develop and learn skills for the real world. Class useful to all majors! Would 100% take it again.

Celia is the best Environmental Studies professor Ive had. Her class is not only interesting, but also incredibly practical in developing real-world skills. Based on her epic and inspirational work experience, there is no better person to teach this class. She is unbelievably approachable, available outside of office hours, and all around awesome.

Celia is by far the best professor I've had at UCSB. You have to do a speech, a communications report, a twitter assignment, and another easy project that shouldn't be too difficult. Be ready to put in work but you will get a lot out of the class. She even skyped with me when I was having trouble with my speech prep. 100% would take again.

Celia is amazing! She is very inspiring and is always available for extra office hours. This is an Environmental Studies class, but I think it is relevant to all majors! The assignments are super fun: Writing an Op-Ed, Blog posts, Tweets, etc... If you're interested in learning practical skills of communicatingstorytelling, take this class!

Very interesting life story, but not much to bring to the classroom. Textbook use was nonexistent but in assignments, we were expected to know the text back and forth without ever having discussed it in class. I found almost every class pointless, didn't learn much, and found her to be a little condescending at times. her grading was also unfair
