MAT211 . 8 Years Ago

Took his MAT 211 (Intro to Linear Algebra) course at Stony Brook. While he wasn't the clearest professor, he cared a lot about the students and went out of his way to help us. Will guide you through the homework and practice problems at office hours. He's a brilliant, kind, and awesome person, especially once you get to know him! DIFY

Lectures are boring, but if you look through your lecture notes, it helps with homework. He isn't particularly entertaining, but I think part of the problem was how tedious vector calc can be.

Difficult to understand. His lectures are boring and slow, and the homework is much harder than anything we go over in class. I would highly recommend CLAS for this class, my CLAS tutor was amazing and I came out with a solid A thanks to him.

Legitimately not understandable at times. Spells and pronounces the word "subtract" as "substract" and pronounces the word "parentheses" as "prentethis" for example. Some homework problems not worded correctly. Nice guy though.

His lectures aren't the most interesting, but it helps to attend because he goes over a lot of example problems that show up on hw and tests. Tests questions are very similar to webwork. He is probably the most generous in terms of class curve in the math department. 1/3 of the class gets an A- or higher.

Hard to understand at first, but he's pretty laid back. Just write down the examples he does in class (he gets them from the book). Most of the midterm and final problems came from webwork, some from the book problems. Section helps. Curve is awesome, 3/4 of the class got above a B-

Kind of hard to understand professor, got better as the class moved along. Very little HW, with flexible deadlines. Hard tests, but huge curve makes it hard to get lower than a B- in the class. Low midterm score can make it hard to reach an A/A- with a good final exam score, be warned (even with huge curve). Overall OK class due to these leniancies

Prof Wang has an accent, but his method of teaching is very comprehensive. He gives helpful examples in class. Barely any HW is assigned, so it is essential to do book problems to study for the exams. CLAS is extremely helpful. Overall pretty difficult class, but generous curve at the end. 1/3 gets A's another 40% get B's :o
