Angela is a very good lecturer. The readings in this class were very interesting. She analyzed the books in a way you can easily understand even if you haven't read the books. If you attend the class and pay attention to what she says in lecture, the midterm and final paper are easy.

Angela is hands down the best language teacher I've ever had, and a non-modern language at that. She's witty, sharp, and incredibly helpful--she knows where you're likely to trip up on the material and she's fair with her tests. Her main concern is for you to learn the language, not to beg her for a passing grade. She's also great conversation.

Class 37 is a fairly standard GE course, so easy grading is common for most professors. That said, the coursework is interesting and Holzmeister was very engaged and enthusiastic about students learning and enjoying the material. However, the mandatory attendance (30% of the grade) was onerous. Lots of reading: 1 book per 3 days in summer.
