Professor Daniels is by far one of the best professors I've ever had at UCSB. Extremely passionate and insightful. Gives a fair amount of reading but structures his exams so that you can write to your strengths. He always gives constructive feedback. The class is challenging, but if you go to lecture and read you will succeed.

Professor Daniels is an excellent lecturer. Even though the class was at 8am I was always looked forward to lecture because he made the lectures interesting. Don't take this class if you're looking for an easy A but if you want to learn a lot about ancient history from a passionate professor, take it.

Professor Daniels made a potentially boring topic interesting, especially at 8AM. He was always available outside of class and ran review sessions to help prepare us for the exams. I'm not sure how bright the person who wrote the bad review is... How much history did they expect to cover in a class titled "World History, Pre-History - 1000"?

Professor Daniels did a great job, as long as you did the readings, paid attention in lecture and attended section, there was no reason to not do well in his class. Offered ways for students who did poorly on the midterm to make up for it by improving on the final. Held extremely helpful study sessions for both midterm and final.

Terribly ran class. LOTS of material, and only 1 midterm. Says you wont need to know dates, meaning if you want a C then do not know the dates. To get an A, you have to master about 3000 years worth of material. Is not engaging at all! Taken many college level history courses and this was the worst experience I've ever had. Be warned, steer clear!
