Kayla is an awesome Spanish teacher! Most beneficial Spanish class I've taken. She genuinely cares about her students and does everything in her power to help. The class is very structured and she is so well organized. If you pay attention in class and do the work; you'll be fine. She's always available to help after class and in office hours too.

This was my 4th quarter taking Spanish here, and honestly, Kayla was my favorite of the professors I've had in the department. Her speaking is fluid and very clear, and she prepared a variety of activities for us to actively work on our writing and speaking Spanish. Lots of hard concepts for Span5, but she explained them in ways that made sense.

I absolutely LOVE Kayla. I had her for two quarters and she definitely was passionate about teaching Spanish. She offered so many resources for her students and was always willing to put in extra hours to help proofread an essay or clarify any concepts.

Awesome teacher, super nice, and really willing to help. I would take a class with her again.

Kayla is probably the most organized teacher you'll come across at UCSB. All her instructions are concise, and she leaves no room for you to doubt her teaching method because it's so effective. She encourages participation & your best work ethic, & that's what makes her so great. She's also grades and returns your examsessays in approx. two days.

Kayla was one of the best Spanish instructors I've had, if not the best. She was super clear, encouraging, engaging, and patient. Her feedback on essaystests was helpful and grading was very fair and reasonable. If you can, please take a language class taught by her: you will learn a lot and enjoy coming to class! Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved this class. Kayla was awesome and always prepared. I felt like she actually cared about the well being of her students. The only part I didn't like was the online textbook and hmwk. These to always seemed to give problems and felt like I could have done better with something else. I highly recommend this class.

She was super helpful and very willing to talk during office hours or respond to emails. I also thought her lectures were well prepared and very clear. We used the textbook a lot and had online assignments every night, which was a little annoying but not too bad as they weren't at all hard. would recommend her as a teacher.

She's very willing to help and answer questions in class and in office hours. Homework load is not too heavy, although something is assigned every day...3 exams and a final. Lots of study sheets that reinforce grammar/syntax rules and group work. Kind of a nit-picky grader, but nice overall. I would recommend her class.
