Dr. Yu was a great professor. She got a ton of crap from people for being a new professor but still managed to do the work of three professors during summer. She is really informative if you ask her about things. Her lecture style DEMANDS that you do your reading but otherwise it isn't hard to keep up and do well. Her clothes are cool too.

very difficult class

If you read the book while taking notes on the slides, and review those slides before the test its pretty manageable. The only real reason to go to class is iClicker. She is better than many other intro-bio professors, and the class is supposed to challenge students to weed people out of the major, so it has to be competitive. Overall good.

Her slides are not straight-forward at all. Somehow really easy for everyone to be confused at all times. She doesn't assume we know as little as we do, so talks in depth about stuff she has yet to actually teach. Her slides are just pictures of some complex chemical cycles that she breezes over quickly. Bio is already a stuggle, she makes it worse
