This class was great. You get the opportunity to learn about so many resources, opportunities, and different people. Everyone who helps out with this course really cares a lot, and it motivates you to take the initiative to be involved.

I looked forward to this class each week. Attendence is mandatory but on Tuesday it's typically a guest speaker talking about a relevant topic and Thursdays was discussions. You do have to participate but it was not a hard class at all and I enjoyed Maka and Mark. Would recommend!

Syllabus clearly explains what will happen in class. Graded solely on attendance (section and lecture), group project (randomized with people in your section (can be good or bad)), and a few discussion posts and quizzes. Mark is so nice and is always accessible after lecture. I highly recommend this class, as anyone can do well if they have fun.

Mark is a great guy with a great team of TA's. The class is interesting and its content is extremely useful. Discussions in section are engaging, and homework is straightforward. If you can, definitely try to get in Maka's section, he's also a very chill dude. I'd love to take another one of Mark's classes in the future.

I loved this class! You can tell Mark is such a genuinely good person and the stuff he teaches is so valuable. I recommend his course to any student at UCSB.

Mark was great you could tell he cared. Lectures and sections were very engaging. A lot of busywork hw (quiz, worksheet, and forum) weekly. Easy to complete just time-consuming. One project that spans the course, it is relatively easy with a presentation to your section at the end. Overall an easy but engaging and interesting elective course.
