A great class to get an introduction to research. Different lecturers every week to talk about their department and research. You have to interview a faculty member doing research. Great way to make connections and consider research outside of what your field is.

While this class felt like preschool at times, the professor is so cool and impactful. Yes it is probably the easiest A at UCSB, but he also does teach really valuable life lessons. Very uniqe class and Mark makes it so enjoyable. Looked forward to coming to this class every single week miss it frfr

I took the INT95B class during winter quarter, and I met some of my closest friends in this class. The TAs are wonderful people and I definitely got a look into future options and other career paths through the speakers and their experiences with their majors. Would def recommend to take!

This class was great. You get the opportunity to learn about so many resources, opportunities, and different people. Everyone who helps out with this course really cares a lot, and it motivates you to take the initiative to be involved.

I looked forward to this class each week. Attendence is mandatory but on Tuesday it's typically a guest speaker talking about a relevant topic and Thursdays was discussions. You do have to participate but it was not a hard class at all and I enjoyed Maka and Mark. Would recommend!

Syllabus clearly explains what will happen in class. Graded solely on attendance (section and lecture), group project (randomized with people in your section (can be good or bad)), and a few discussion posts and quizzes. Mark is so nice and is always accessible after lecture. I highly recommend this class, as anyone can do well if they have fun.
