Dr Forbes is an amazing teacher! He made taking english so much fun. He never puts a students writing down and will help you through every step if you need. highly recommend taking his class, not only cause he's a great teacher but he's also hilarious!

I love Forbes. He is a fun professor who clearly remembers what is was like to an undergrad. He is mellow but also enthusiastic at the same time. His teaching style is spot on, he uses a lot of examples and gives a lot of feedback throughout the writing process. Does the whole corny joke thing but is also really current. He likes talking politics

He is a very excellent writing teacher. Even if you do not like writing he is going to get a great paper out of you. He makes class very interesting and enjoyable. Everything he asks you to do isn't much work. Great teacher take him and you won't regret it.

Jonathan is absolutely the best TA I've ever had! I took two classes with him as my TA and I honestly loved going to section every time. He's very supportive, encouraging and engaging and really helps you understand the material in a very deep way. He's always available to provide help and feedback. I wish he were a full time professor here! 10/10.

I love Jonathan Forbes. You have three writing assignments, each of which slowly progress. The class moves really fast (paper due every 23 weeks) but that's due to the quarter system. His feedback is so helpful and he's always there to help even if you're struggling miserably. Highly highly recommend his class.

Forbes is a teacher that really helped me improve in writing. You definitely have to work for an A, but his feedback is so clear and understandable that he gives you what you need to to get an A in the final drafts. Putting in effort you will get an A. He's a really fair grader and knows when you are putting work in.
