The only thing you have to do in this class is memorize the slides. Any lists of functions or characteristics for certain things will be on the test. Use exact wording in slides and receive full credit. Absolutely no critical thinking but if you are interested, the information can be intriguing.

Must memorize all facts and copious amount of slides. Posts lectures online and lectures are about 80 slides each with confusing examples. Stopped going to lecture halfway, just go to section and they will better explain concepts. Professor is gone most of the time and only reads off slides when he is there. Very monotone and boring. Good class.

I went to lecture about 70% of the time and still got an A. If you are good at memorizing, then you will do well in this course. I typed up a 20pg quizlet for the midterm, and a 45pg quizlet for the final exam. Attending section gives you extra credit, so I would go. Exam questions are non-specific. Learn lists on the lectures. He's not helpful.

Best cell biology class ever. information on glycans is very good and interesting and not found in any textbooks.

Completely useless tests. For an upper division bio class to have a multiple choice and mostly true or false test is ridiculous. Your best bet is to memorize his copious amount of slides and hope that you can guess right on his poorly worded and lazy test questions.

Go to class. His powerpoint slides are full of a lot of things you don't need to know, but he says in class which parts are important. His tests are hard but fair (and have a good curve), and there is only a midterm and a final. His lecture can be boring, but he's a nice guy and is helpful.

He reads off the ppt. slides and no one can even take notes because there's so much info thrown at you in lecture. Each lecture is six pages of notes, you teach yourself. The tests are unpredictable and filled with trick questions. He lectures a LOT about his research, so you have to memorize a million things about glycans, even though no one cares
