ECON101 . 11 Years Ago

The good part is he is very clear about what he wants (literally writes down every word he says) and an A is 90-95 (No A-) I actually did learn some macro material that was very interesting BUT it was not the emphasis of the course so there wasn't much of it. He is young so he is inexperienced and not a good lecturer. Class is a drag but its easy!

It's really funny he wrote down everything he said including so many pointless stuffs .. i learned nothing but memorized all the equations cuz i think he doesn't know how to explain the concept. all he knows is how to solve those simple math equations.

Lecture is useless, he just writes out equations and expects you to memorize them. I've learned nothing at all.

Lots of memorization and not much learning. Goodluck.

Very straightforward. No need to go to class, just do the homework and go to section.

Horrible teacher. Fall 2011 Midterm/Final nothing like his Spring ones. All math memorization, learn very little about macro economics. All variable math. Would avoid if possible.

Great Guy but a terrible teacher/lecturer. His lectures are pretty much pointless. All we do is following his simple math calculations. He doesn't really explain the concepts and why we are doing this. This is pretty much a math memorization class. I am sad that this is a required course for Econ and everyone has to sit through his class.

Don't buy the $200 text book, you never use it. The exams are based almost entirely on the homework, so know how to do the homework. Going to section helps because the TAs often explain how to do the homework. As for Lawver himself... not a great professor but a nice enough guy.

He doesn't explain the concepts of Macroeconomic theory. Good thing he offers notes which clarify the meaning of all his math calculations. Lecture was pointless... Just make sure you have his handouts DOWN! and regurgitate them WORD for WORD (He's picky about wording) on the midterms/final and you'll be in A+ land.

This professor was extremely straight forward and from the beginning you know what is expected. Very approachable and entertaining. I highly recommend this professor! You can get an A if you study the material closely, as with any core econ course. He's cute too!

The material itself is not that difficult, the hard part is writing down EXACTLY what he wants you to write down on the hw and exams. Go to his lectures and memorize his solution steps, and write them the exact way on the hw and tests. He mainly concentrates on the math part rather than really explaining the material. horrible professor, nice guy.

The professor is horrible at clarifying the assignments. He basically just works out math problems on the overhead and doesn't describe any of the intuitive aspects of economics. He makes this class feel like a high school economics course.
