Midterms are super easy. Final super hard. lecture is super confusing. go to CLAS and read the books. attend TA office hours.
Similar experience to everyone here... Midterms were very generous with partial credit. I felt pretty good after the final and did worse then I anticipated. (I assume maybe the "reverse" in grading from midterm to final). Brunick himself seems nice but his lectures, especially compared to CLAS, were confusing. CLAS made the class much easier
Generous grader for mditerms but not for the final. Honestly, if you do the homework and attend CLAS you'll be fine. Brunick himself is a nice/chill guy and a very knowledgeable professor. The reason people complain about his unclear lectures is because they don't read the book. If you read, you'll know exactly what hes talking about in lecture.
Final was alright. More fair than midterms. Go to office hours
Class is moderately difficult. Tests graded fairly, gives a lot of points for partial credit. However, lectures are hard to follow. Good guy. If you put in a few hours a week going over the lectures and trying to understand, you'll do fine.
midterms/sections graded fairly...final completely reverse. nothing like what he told us to study and on the practice exams/or books. I wouldve gotten an A for sure with another teacher as I actually have interest in stats
Being a first time Stats student, his course stood out as very challenging. He's a nice guy, but as the previous guy said, races through too fast.. Grading for the midterms are quite generous, but completely reversed on the final.
Brunick is a cool guy. I have no issue with him. I have an issue with how he lectures. He races through slides, and taking notes is impossible. The tests are graded in an awful way. Gives you a blue book and not a lot of time. I have to re take this class. Don't take this class with him. I also hate STAT with a passion, so you might think otherwise
