In the fall section, the class is really a self-paced research project. Dr. I and several mentors are around to help. What you get done depends on how much time you want to spend in lab, you can definitely just do the minimum but I would suggest putting in the time because it makes O-chem so much easier. There is only one report this semester.

Besides chemistry lab techniques, the class also focuses on scientific writing, a very important skill to have. As long as you read the material on Canvas thoughtfully and actually do the weekly experiments, you will breeze through the lab reports and make an A in this class! Plus, Dr. I is super funny.

Dr. I is very knowledgeable about organic chemistry and will answer any question you have. The class can be slightly time consuming IF you want to learn all this class has to offer! Dr. I provides you with plenty of material to well prepare you before going into lab. If you want to go into organic chemistry research this is the class to take.

Dr. I is the professor who solidified my interest in research. If you spend time trying you're basically guaranteed an A, because she doesn't believe in grades. In the spring semester there are reports and assignments that take time, but if you struggle with time management you can talk to her and she'll help you get organized. You learn so much.

Class is very disorganized and not run well. Professor tries to make things easy but ends up changing formats for already established procedures. Does NOT notify you about group projects via any source but class. Good luck.
