She is super nice and funny, very good at encouraging everyone to engage with the language. You have quizzes and compositions every other week and a group project which can be very fun! I took FR 1-3 and love her teaching style. Take her if you can, you won't regret it! Also super helpful and accessible.

Two big projects and participation matters. The projects are divided into weekly assignments so it comes together easily. The professor cares a lot for her students and I would defiantly take her again.

Sarah is an amazing person, I took French 1-3 with her and she is very kind. She is also the head of the FRIT dept. Office hours is worth it if you are struggling. The class is inductive so every day/class is in French. There are compositions and tests every other week, also a group project at the end. Homework is not too overwhelming just keep up.

Prof Roberts is by far the best professor Ive had on this campus. She is kind and makes class extremely fun. She has really inspired me to continue learning French. Also I greatly enjoy going to her office hours to get help with homework or just to talk about my future. I would HIGHLY recommend.

She is my favorite professor at UCSB. I hope to have her again and again in my French journey as she made going to school enjoyable for me. Also, she is a very caring and understanding person. Great at teaching, makes learning fun, and genuinely cares about her students. Because of her I will be minoring in French. Amazing teacher and woman.

Sarah is the best professor at UCSB. I just signed up to take her class for the third quarter in a row. She inspired me to major in French, even though id never been interested in learning foreign languages before. The class is difficult, but she makes the material accessible and is very encouraging and adaptable to students needs.

Sarah Roberts is the best french teacher at UCSB. She generally cares about how much you learn and will go out of her way to ensure that you understand the material. Beyond helpful at office hours and very flexible if you need more time for an assignment. she makes you want to work hard to make her proud!

Professor Roberts is the funniest professor I have ever had! Even though she's British, you would never be able to tell from her amazing French accent and knowledge. This woman knows her material as she got her PhD in French, and is excellent at teaching it. She is so down to earth and unique, you will love her class!

She was seriously one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. She makes the class very easy going, and it is okay to make mistakes. She prepares you very well for the exams, all you have to do is go to class and you can easily get an A. I would suggest her to anyone.

Professor Roberts is amazing! She is super nice and offers many extra credit opportunities. There is homework everyday, but nothing too hard. I personally enjoyed taking this class! If you keep up with homework, and do well on quizzes you should be able to get a good grade pretty easily.

She basically just rewrote a chapter a day on the board as our lectures, then again the class material was very detailed French grammar that just needed to be memorized. She's nice, maybe has to do with her being British, and I wouldn't mind taking her class again.
