Tabitha is the best political science prof. at the U of U in my opinion. She's kind, very knowledgeable, and clear. You will learn how to write in a style that will be applicable to all classes. She knows political economy like the back of her hand and can answer ANY question. Her class is heavily essay-based, but she will guide you to success.
Her teaching style is not particularly interesting- she basically just reviews what you were required to read in the book. It does mean, though, that you learn the material, and it makes the tests easy. A dull but useful class.
Tabitha was a great TA. She was a fair grader and wasn't necessarily a stickler on the essays--she just expected us to write at university level and cite correctly. The course is heavy on reading and writing (4 essays + final) but Tabitha always clarified points from lecture well and made time to advise on essays if you needed it!
Tabitha is a hard grader, but she helped to improve my writing more than any other TA I have had. She is willing to spend as much time as you need and really knows a lot about environmental issues. I really like her and would take her again in a heart beat.
Prof Benney was an awesome teacher. I am not really big on economics, but I loved this class. I though she was very clear and organized and I learned a lot. I would recommend this class if she is teaching it.
She's OK but she had a hard time as it was the first time she taught a class. She definitely tried to play up that she thought she was a professor. Sometimes I wish though that she would admit that she didnt know what she was talking about. She also name-dropped A LOT, like any of us cared though.
This class was the worst. She was pretty boring and came to class disorganized. There were sometimes I didn't even understand what she was trying to say!
