This class is very conceptually heavy and Morrison could have doe a better job explaining the vocabulary and abstract math concepts in the class which I had to supplement with youtube videos. He wants his students to succeed. The first midterm was easy but the second and final were much more challenging so don't be fooled like I was!

1st midterm was very easy, but the 2nd and 3rd were more difficult. Make sure you do the homework, as that's what truly helped me learn linear algebra.

Nice professor! Don't be disguised by his previous ratings.

Linear algebra is not easy. He's very smart, but unfortunately he's not a good lecturer. MAKE SURE you take notes by yourself on the section he will teach prior to every lecture. The online homework and CLAS are very helpful and practice the problems when studying the midterms. I got an A in the class, if you put in the work, you can get an A.

He seems like a nice guy but he can't teach at all. He doesn't seem to get straight to the point during lectures and more than half the time I have no idea what he's talking about. Sign up for CLAS it will save your life. Also his handwriting is terrible so if you don't listen closely you'll be lost.

You can tell that he knows what he is talking about, he just does not know how to say it. CLAS and the online homework system are a huge part of success in this class. Teaching aside, Morrison is a cool guy. He tries to make jokes and actually listened to the class for suggestions and complaints. He is not as horrible as people make him out to be.

The class was extremely boring. The only reason I went to lectures was to get participation points. Morrison is incredibly gifted at math and he loves it, but the lecture hall was terribly hot so you couldn't pay attention. The only reason I did well in the class was through the online homework system. Getting a good grade isn't hard, though.

Really Boring. Really confusing in lectures. TA should've taught the class. I learned everything from the TA and the homework system. Avoid him.

This is quite honestly the worst math teacher I have ever had. Morrison has illegible handwriting, makes mistakes everywhere, and he's incredibly disorganized. I have spoken to quite a few other students about how much they've learned from lecture, and they haven't learned anything. CLAS is the way to go if you get Morrison. AVOID HIM. Terrible.

Math always came really easy for me...until this class. The online homework program taught me way more than Morrison; his teaching style is all over the place and he expects us to follow his craziness. Don't recommend this class/professor if it's not necessary for your major.

He is honestly one of the worst professors/teachers I have ever had. He is very unorganized, and has horribly illegible handwriting. I'm very interested in math but had to teach myself through this class. More than half of the audience doesn't even listen to the lecture and just sits on their phones the whole time. Useless.

I like to be objective. He is the worst professor I have had at UCSB. If you enroll in his class, you are subject to learning the material by yourself. Way too much talking about useless stuff. He read his notes, he did not explain or do examples. If he happens to be the only professor offering some course, I suggest you wait a quarter.
