Excellent professor. Very smart and engaging. I learned a lot from this class and enjoyed the readings even though they were a lot at times.

Although all the comments about here talk about how hard he is, he actually really isn't at all! He does assign a lot of reading but they are interesting, easy reads. His goal is for students to learn and he does a great job at that. I have taken 2 classes with him and have enjoyed them both!

Lots of reading assingned more than 5 book in a quarter, makes u get into groups and walks around making sure u read, he grades like an english teacher, and assingns too much reading in a week.

Worst lecturer i've ever had at ucsb. he just shows videos and reads straight out a book and spends half of every single lecture making the students answer pointless questions. a total waste of time. save yourself the money and sanity and stay away from this professor

Does not go by syllabus, shows a BORING documentary or group discussion every single class because he doesnt know how to teach. Waste of your time, do yourself a favor and don't take this class! He cried in front of all of us because we forgot our books and he was pissed, crazy guy!

HORRIBLE! Does not know how to teach he'll either "lecture" (read his notes in a monotone voice behind podium), group discussion or show a documentary. This class was a waste of my time and my money, He doesn't teach so you don't learn. Absolutely the worst class I have ever taken. Take Robinson instead!!
