Let me start off saying that Comanor's teaching style is definitely not for everyone. Class attendance is absolutely madatory and he has no problem calling out students who don't put in work. That being said, he clearly cares far more that his students learn the material than he does about giving out grades. Would 100% recommend taking his classes.
Comanor's speech on the first day is no joke, he really will mark you down one full letter grade if you miss class for any reason. Our class went down from 52 to 18 students for this reason. You also can NEVER be late, he will scold you. Other than that, fair work load and you will do well if you put in a lot of effort.
Took 116c with him. Great teacher, lectures are somewhat interactive, basically a conversation with the class about the days topic regarding Antitrust law. 2nd half of quarter just presentations. One midterm (case study), 20 minute presentation and 15 page final paper (presentation in essay format). Put in the time and you will get a good grade.
Comanor is pretty chill. 116c - Antitrust Econ, class had a midterm, one 20 minute presentation and a paper due. The paper is just the presentation in essay format essentially. He spends the first half of the quarter lecturing about Antitrust stuff, then the 2nd half is student presentations, 3 a day. The class is pretty easy all in all
You cannot miss any class. He is nice but I found difficult the grading policy because im an international student. The midterm is easy he is not going to ask you to buy the book.
116B with Comanor was way different than any other Econ class I've taken. There was no math involved-just 1 midterm (essay format), a 25 min presentation & 12pg research paper on how the internet has effected a particular industry of your choice. Overall an easy class. Comanor is a smart man with a lot of accomplishments. Recommend for an easy A.
Very hard and not helpful at all. He just cares about himself and his accomplishments. Lowered my GPA
Very good teacher. Knows his stuff and is enthusiastic about his teaching. Hard class though, so pay attention and take good notes.
Didn't like this professor's teaching style or attitude. He has little concern for his students.
