Tough grader and didnt learn anything from the class at all. Dont recommend
She is really sweet but the material felt a bit redundant and/or dumbed down. May be a good class for people who know little to nothing about LGBT community/bisexuality.
Easy class, and great professor! Sections were very interactive but not a lot of work. Attendance is mandatory for lectures and sections. No final this quarter, just a paper. Would recommend!
Lectures were interesting and mandatory due to iClicker. Weekly quizzes to ensure you keep up on the reading (PDFs). Need to complete 10 hours of volunteer work in a helping setting over the quarter along with assignments that relate to that. Sections are very hands on & you do a lot of mock therapy activities. Awesome professor and great lecturer.
Topics covered in lecture are very interesting, & the hands-on practice in sections is fun. Grades are based on attendance, papers, online quizzes, exams. Readings are posted online, so you don't have to buy a textbook/reader. Class isn't too hard if you put in the work. Lectures are pretty clear, & slides are posted online after class.
For the most part, this class wasn't a challenge. Although there are these stupid weekly quizzes on guachospace that are worth 25% for your grade (same as the exams) which is really dumb and can significantly effect your grade. Class was enjoyable and if you have a good/nice TA then it's not so bad.
Everything taught in this class I already knew, so I had no interest in the class but had to go cause of iclicker questions. There is a section which makes this class worse because it's more pointless than the lectures. This class requires a lot of work with weekly quizes and writing assignments so a good grade is possible doing bad on the final
It was a good class overall. Went over a lot of common knowledge stuff and asked iclicker questions that were ridiculously easy so it wasnt all that interesting. Wasnt hard. sections are pretty boring. interactive but not fun interactions.
