WEBER E
After taking this class, I learned that the TA you have matters. My TA was Richard Nedjat-Haiem, a condescending nightmare who graded way harsher than the others. He belittled us and was so pretentious. We didn't do anything in the section; he made us "teach" it. Once he didn't even show up.
Great lecturer, super involved with the issues she discusses. participation in lecture definitely helps and would recommend going to office hours if anything is unclear. participation was mandatory in section but definitely depends on how strict your TA is. overall super interesting class and was the most passionate professor i've had
Prof Weber was so caring and informative. I would definitely recommend doing the readings if you want to stay engaged during lecture and if you want to do well in the class (grade is mostly from an in class essay for the midterm, an 1800 word paper, and final all concerning readings/lectures). Everything we learned was fascinating. I recommend!
Honestly shes a decent professor. She talks a lot and its kinda difficult to stay engaged in class. BUT my main point is DO NOT take this class if you are easily triggered by graphic content (SA, racism, etc). I found this out on the first day of class and by that point all other class options were full. so just be warned-- its graphic af
My all time favorite class that I've taken here. The prof was so nice and her lectures were easy to understand and interesting. I enjoyed the different texts that we were assigned to read each week and I found the papers and homework assignments to be really interesting and easy.
I could've failed this class but Professor Weber did not let me. She was really helpful and even extended deadline dates for me( she saw that I was actually participating in class). The class is writing heavy but if you enjoy analysis papers then you would like this class. Overall great professor and actually care about whether you pass or fail.
This honors seminar was super interesting and personally impactful! Prof Weber successfully led students through the art of advocacy for imprisoned scholars and offered support and creative ideas the whole way through. Though the online format was difficult at some times, I had a lot of takeaways from this seminar. I would recommend it to others!
I spent my time doing the important readings and I watched parts of lecture just for more context. Weekly assignments that require peer reviews, a midterm paper which was 3 short essay questions, and one final long essay. Two small EC opportunities. Not hard to get an A, just a lot of work.
If you're taking her for online, just don't. I'm sure shes a good prof in person but she has seriously failed to adapt to online teaching. Def the worst online experience I've had so far. Awful communicator with super confusing deadlines and instructions. Syllabus was just wrong. Peer reviews mandatory every week. Ungodly amount of reading. 2/10
She's actually the greatest. I really loved her class, she made it super interesting and helped the readings make a lot of sense. Go to class and she'll basically tell you everything you need to know about the readings. Reading isn't necessary but it helps, I suggest SparkNotes if you hate reading. She's easy to talk to and really helpful. Easy A.
The subject of the class interested me and professor weber did not fail to deliver! She was engaging, wanted students to participate (although you didnt have to), interesting, talked about relevant and current topics, and if you listen during class you know exactly what to put in your paper thats 35% of the grade! Finals are exhausting but doable
She's a little crazy, I'll admit, but amazing. Made my college experience. Enthusiastic, really cares about her students, really interesting literature. She may pick literature that seems impossible, but she wants you to get through it and helps in every way possible.
