ANTH137 . 14 Years Ago

The seven page paper for a class that didn't give writing credit was WEAK. I went to class and still failed the quizzes. The tests weren't hard because she gave the essay prompts ahead of time and allowed people to bring a typed outline. The class wasn't interesting. I remember there were so many cute girls in the lecture hall. I got a B.

This class sucked. I thought it would be an interesting look at Maya Civilization, but instead she delivered boring, dry lectures (most of which she read directly from notes) about artifacts that have been found. Tests aren't too hard though, but having to sit through the lectures makes it not worth it.

Try to avoid this class. The professor reads from her notes a lot and presents material in a very dry and tedious manner. She is not a good teacher, and doesn't get you excited about the subject. The class wasn't too hard, but you write and 7+ page paper and don't get writing credit...not worth it.

Really enjoyed this class. Lots of info during lecture, majority of detailed info you need to know can be found on study sheets. Didn't need to read assigned texts for the exams, only skimmed for the paper. Easy A+ if you come to class and take good notes. She will proof read your paper too. Review notes before class and pop quizzes are a breeze.

Took this class on Ancient Maya expecting a fun and easy elective--wrong!! She just talks on and on with the same picture on the overhead, lots of names that sound the same and details to remember but no slides!! She doesn't take attendance but has pop quizzes. Luckily the tests aren't terrible but there's a ton of stuff to study.
