A great teacher who started out a little stiff but relaxed as the semester progressed. She showed great films and had us read excellent articles on the subject (Film Genres). Her exams were moderately difficult and asked us to think and be creative in our responses. You need to know the material to do well. Lots of opportunity for class discussions

Attendance isn't really mandatory except that you have to see (most of) the films if you want a good grade. No textbook, just a reader. She's an entertaining lecturer and clearly states what you need to know for her exams. Fair grader, highly recommended!
