[PHIL 1]Great introductory course. His lectures are very clear and easy to understand. His class is fair, only a simle mid-term and final, one paper that the TA's are very helpful with. && he assigns very limited reading. Actually a good class changed my perspective on life. Recommend.

Very cool professor, had some funny stories and explained things very thoroughly. Recommend if your into philosophy, otherwise don't because the concepts learned would just frustrate or bore you. There's two papers (one 4-5, one 5-6) and a final (four 1-2 pg answers and two essay questions).

wonderful class to take if you are into philosophy. definitely attend lectures because it's nearly impossible to get a good grasp on the concepts without.

Altschul is a great lecturer. He will overexplain everything, but still keep it relatively interesting. If you have trouble understanding the concepts that he goes over, than it's not him... it's you. Go to every lecture that you can and at least read his online notes. My only complaint is that the TAs had vastly unequal grading standards.

Pretty easy class, I didn't even buy the book. As long as you go to class you should do just fine. He gives study guides that totally prepare you for his tests and as far as the papers go, take them to TA office hours and you'll def get an A

The classes are very important to go to if you want a clear explanation of the material from the professor. He does a good job explaining everything and making it enjoyable. He definitely knows his stuff. If you do the reading and attend most classes, you should be able to do very well. Definitely recommended!
