A decent choice for GESM120. May start off the course feeling reading heavy but you'll get used to it. Topics are interesting, nice class discussions. Beware of printing all the readings (super costly) on top of buying reading books. She'll assign you 3 big essays with 2 teaching contributions (with essay). She's a decent grader, not too tough.

Lectures might feel slightly unorganized, but it allows you to pick your own path. A good emphasis on group discussions, which are certainly very valuable.

Though she has some learning to do when it comes to lecturing, in every other aspects she excels. Seeing her one-on-one or in the less public honors section was both engaging and informative, and a time I would actually look forward to. However,if one has no interest in cultural anth, I hate to say it might be hard to stay interested or focused.

I feel bad because she seemed nice, but the class was pretty boring. She read an essay every class, rarely looked up, wasn't engaging at all. The info presented was at times interesting, it was just horrible sitting there and listening to her rant for an hour. Not too hard, I got a B doing about half the reading and never studying.

Zeamer clearly is interested and knowledgeable about Anthro. However, she comes off mean and doesn't really want her students to like anthro or do well. She really needs help with her teaching style: she reads from an essay she writes for each lecture, she doesn't engage students and is very very boring.

ridiculously excessive amounts of reading, and yet we NEVER discuss the readings in class OR lectures. she expects us to know really specific details from a book tat is like 300 pages. (there are like 3 books total, PLUS a course reader). her questions on her exams are extremely vague-answers will be like: a), b), C)-a AND b, d), e) all the above
