I've never gotten below a B in any class and I got a D in this one. Milstein is silly sometimes but its very difficult to pay attention and thus very difficult to motivate yourself to go to class...but you really, really should. Homework is tough, start it early.

Go to professor and TA office hours for homework help on a regular basis. Also, work in groups. Quizzes are of medium difficulty, just study the current homework problems the morning before the quiz. If quizzes are optional, TURN THEM IN to lower the value of the final. The final is really hard. It's easy to get at least 70%s on the quizzes.

Homework is usually much more difficult than quizzes. Is not always great at getting material across to students. Handouts he gives in class are helpful though. Overall mediocre teacher.
