I feel like Marcoline gets a bad rap because she's a super-tough grader, but I respect that. She wants you to improve and gives you opportunities to do so. Her class is the only A- on my transcript and I've never worked so hard for a grade in my life, but I'm more proud of that one than any other grade I have. She pushes you to be your best.
Very good teacher. I never thought I would find a literature class interesting, but she made the class enjoyable. She is straightforward and grades very fairly if you give her what she is looking for. The reading was not bad at all. I would recommend her as a teacher because she is young and understanding. Not strict at all, really cool.
She is a harsh grader, she's not very clear on what she wants students to write about. Sometimes, she can be akward but she's nice. She's avaible in office hours. She knows her literature. She's fair overall, I would not recommend taking her if it's not your major.
Not the greatest teacher. Can come off as kind of awkward probably b/c she's not very experienced. Super hard grader; not particularly clear about what she wants us to write. She will mark you down for the smallest details in your papers. Unnecessarily hard class due to her grading scale. Not recommended; there are better teachers at UCSB.
Found her to be an exceptionally hard grader, which isn't a good thing. Not recommended.
Absolutely love Anne! She is so passionate about the literature we study and is incredibly encouraging and open to her students' interpretations. This class is such a joy, I would take it just for fun.
It was like everything you learned from K-12 grade was the wrong way to write. I kept getting C's on papers based on a writing style that I got A's on on all of my other papers for other classes. Nice lady, but kinda harsh grader. Not recommended
I was extremely happy with Anne as my TA. She was everything I dreamed of and more. I wish she was teaching every course I take.
This professor was patronizing and antagonistic. She treated us like freshmen in high school, but graded us as though we were doctorate students. Do not take her!
Annoying additions to portfolie such as "proofreading checklist" and "outlines" which are heavily graded. The whole class was heavily feministic, and gender indentity oriented, especially women's gender identity. Class reminded me of freshman year. She even baked us cookies.
