I'm sure he's great for his department, but this class was for mechanical engineers. He realized his favorite topics weren't part of original syllabus, so with 4 weeks left he adds an extra chapter and then proceeded to assign 3 questions from the entire chapter as hw. He made that chapter 40% of the final. Quiet and boring as well.

Lectures are mostly clear and Long teaches directly out of the textbook. Taught mostly problem solving and had a tendency to skip background information necessary for a beginning engineering class. Labs weren't terrible but usually took a long time. Assigns weekly homework and the homework can be very hard. Great w/ office hours. Decent professor
