Speaking as a senior, Malia Roberson is the singular worst professor I have ever encountered. She will not accept criticism, and instead gets extremely defensive. She is unclear on both assignments and expectations and will grade you according to the uncommunicated expectations in her head. Extremely subjective grading. Should not be a professor.
Professor Roberson means well. She just clearly isnt ready to have a full-fledged teaching job. Phrases such as "I hope I get do this right" and "just do whats obvious" are used regularly. Refuses to accept criticism and instead gets ridiculously defensive. Still got some growing up to do.
She's one hard professor. I don't think she is exactly fair on her grading. I don't really appreciate her and her teaching. I find her rather annoying actually. If you don't do it her way then its wrong. I get very annoyed in class.
Hardest professor I ever had. I got the feeling that her getting us through a certain amount of material was more important than our real understanding of the material. All these reviews say class was easy - but alas - brutal. And I saw a lot of C-'s on tests around me, as well. She smiles a lot, but don't be fooled.
Malia is the single cutest professor on campus. She's always dressed to the "T." She's really passionate about music, which makes the class fun, lots of extra credit and very approachable. Only drawback is she talks pretty fast for students with no music background, a little previous knowledge is necessary.
In my opinion not the clearest lecturer but makes up for it in large amounts of extra credit.
