Okay lecturer, some classes were a little boring but GREAT in office hours- explained a whole lot to me I wasn't sure of. His test were SUPER hard because you have to really know the material enough to write short essays and 1 long essay. I ran out of time on the essay portion on BOTH :( so make sure to pace yourself accordingly during test.Tough!
Interesting class. Slides from lecture are posted online. Glance over the studies in the textbook, carefully read the parts of the book written by Prof. Hamilton, and you'll do fine. However, not a very useful class, and the experiments presented are somewhat outdated. Don't expect an easy A, it takes a solid effort.
Nice guy but tests are long and hard. There isn't enough time for the tests. Midterm and final are worth 50% each. There about 45 multiple choice questions and 3 essay questions. He says he doesn't curve...but he does at the end of the quarter. Know the studies from lecture & the book!
Tough class, tough grading. Not enough time for tests so study hard.
Dr. Hamilton's classes are difficult, but he teaches very complex material. I don't think I've ever had to underline a book as much/take as many notes as I have in this class. He's challenging, but he's fair, and he's also incredibly helpful and approachable.
Must follow along the lectures and make sure you understand everything before the next class cause it's easy to get lost and left behind. Time-management is definitely key for his tests, I ran out of time twice and I take tests very quickly. Have a game plan when studying and try to decide the probabilities of what things will be on the test!
