This was my last class to complete my ChemE degree and I have to say this guy is the worst. Everything previously said about tests and quizzes are true. You must go to class as he puts a fair amount of his lecture on his exams. He has pop quizzes directly from the book but that means you must memorize 50 or so problems. Exams are very unpredictable
Horrible teacher. In fact, the worst chemistry teacher I've had at UCSB. He gave tests and random pop quizes that were both extremely difficult and unrelated to the material being taught. Tests were impossible to prepare for, with any amount of studying. I worked the hardest in this class, and it was my lowest grade. AVOID!
HORRIBLE, absolutely vile as a teacher. Has surprise quizzes that are not always on material covered in class. Likes to add extra material to class thats not in the book. Midterms are entirely unpredictable, the last midterm had an average of 35%. Avoid as much as possible.
He is very nice as a "person", but he is horrible as a "professor" be warned!!
GREAT
