This class turned me on to evolutionary psychology. I really like what we learned about why humans have emotions too. I don't think Schniter is around any more though, too bad we need more great teachers and interesting classes.

I had Eric as a TA my freshman year, and his office hours got me so excited about the subject material that I decided to major in Physical Anthropology instead of History. His teaching is excellent (very clear). Lastly, it bothers me when teachers don't understand a question being asked, but answer anyway. He always addresses the question very well

Honestly the worst class I have ever taken.

Take him if he teaches 107 again. A friend is taking it with Kundu and it seems not as good.

Pretty cool class. He showed all kinds of movies about shamans, magic, superstition, illusions, and weird****e. An easy A, just go to class and study the "guides". Let us drop our midterm, so that we could learn from it and know what expect of the final. Long 3 hour class at night, uGH!

After reading the course description I knew I had to take Anth 107. I love how we got to explore a vast array of issues, from religion to magic. While 3 hour classes can be painful the videos did a good job of breaking up the class and keeping my interest. If you had a question that Eric didn't have an answer for, you'd get it the next lecture.

The material was interesting. He refused to tell us what was to be expected on the midterm or final. He made the exams very detailed, but never specified what detail was going to be on the test. Lots of readings, which is fine, but he told us to use that as a study guide...a 200 page study guide? Not very realistic.

After finishing the final, it seems that the primary problem with his teaching style is that he is unclear about what he wants you to learn. He could definately improve his teaching by making his objectives clear in regards to the type of material he wants you to understand and use on the test/paper.

Worst class I've ever taken. The final was ridiculous. So rude and unhelpful at office hours. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This class made me want to make anthropology my major. We covered some fascinating facets of human nature, the course was well-organized, and Eric's lectures were captivating and to the point. I particularly enjoyed his refutations of many longstanding yet ill-informed assumptions about human psychology. Easily one of the best teachers I've had.

This class felt like it was lumped together from some intro to psych courses and about 40 youtube clips; nothing much new was presented. Teaching style often not engaging, subjects often not interesting. Way too much time spent on background in the first few weeks. Term paper is a waste of time. Very high reading load.

Eric is very helpful. His reading guides for 109 were excellent, for 107 it's been a bit more convoluted. His midterm was not representative of his final and that would be my primary caution. His 109 midterm was more about concepts while the final had more of a focus on matching dates and quotes to authors.
